How the Bellows Work in Measuring Apparatus

Bellows are tubular elastic sensing components connected with foldable wrinkles along the direction of folding and stretching. Bellows are widely used in instruments to convert pressure into displacement or force. It is mainly used as a measuring component of pressure measuring instrument to convert pressure into displacement or force. The bellows have thinner wall and higher sensitivity, and the measuring range is from tens of pa to tens of Mpa.

The open end is fixed, the sealed end is in a free state, and an auxiliary coil spring or reed is used to increase elasticity. Under the action of internal pressure, the pipe stretches along the length of the pipe so that the movable end produces a displacement which is related to the pressure. The pressure can be directly indicated by moving the pointer at the active end. The pressure can be directly indicated by the pointer at the active end. The bellow is often combined with the displacement sensor to form a pressure sensor with a charge output and is sometimes used as an isolation component. The bellows' response speed is lower than that of the Bourdon tube because the bellows' extension requires a large volume change. Therefore, bellows are suitable for measuring low pressure.
